I have done the 10 km mtb ride for the last 3 years with my daughter Megan who is now 14 years old .This year being a teenager and new to high school she decided it was not cool to do the event so I said to her I would do it on my singlespeed mountainbike to see how quickly I could get around the course. I had forgotten just how steep the climb was but had a ball and really enjoyed my ride. A special thanks to all of your organizers and especially the marshalls for being out there and for the encouragement. A tad over 36 minutes was my time and maybe I should have for-gone the drink and quick chat at the very top of the hill, I may have done 35 minutes. Anyway thanks again and who knows maybe I can again encourage my daughter to do it next year. I will be back and will bring a bike with gears I think. Cheers Maree ******** Hi there, I found the 5 km a great fun walk, quite bumpy at times with a pushchair but willing helpers along the way to help with the river crossing and the fairly flat terrain made it managable. It's great to see people of all ages participating, it was well organised and a great fundraiser for Hikuatia school. Jacki
